Founded in 1977 by pioneering brothers Dean and Mark Anderson. The Normark name originates from the merging of Dean’s middle name, Norman, and Mark’ maiden name. Normark started out as a garden maintenance and tree service business.

Mark controlled the sites and was a mentor for many employees who worked with him. He was known for a can do attitude like no other and a natural ability to pick up new skills unfairly too easily.

Dean controlled the office and built strong systems to facilitate Normark’s early growth. He was known for his dogged determination and a natural ability to sell wood to a forest.

With their complementing skills, the pioneering brothers built the foundations of an industry icon and have successfully completed the transition to the next generation.

Today

Today Normark is owned and managed by it’s three directors – Danny Ferns, James Anderson and Blake Anderson.

Danny has played the all important role of conduit between the transition of generations and managing the colourful dynamics of a passionate landscaping family. Today he manages the overall operations and puts his best foot forward trying to keep the reins on the two boys.

James was born in a bobcat, destined for landscaping. He is a hands on tradesman and is the driving force behind the ongoing growth of our commercial team since the early 2000s.

Blake oversees the residential team, establishing strong relationships with some of the industry’s most respected design practices.
